DescriptionMont St Michel, crypte and choir. The crypte des gros piliers, whose thick pillars support the whole east end of the church; built in mid 15th century., almost entirely without decoration, no capitals, but have a certain elegance which distinguishes them from equally massive Romanesque work. The view down in to the choir; new to Mont St Michel were crisp linear mouldings of arcade and finely carved double tracery of triforium. Each of piers rests on one of big pillars of crypt.
